about rod ray

Rod Ray is in his tenth year as the head tennis coach at Wofford College. Since taking over the helm of Wofford tennis program, the program has improved every year. The Wofford tennis program is known as a team with high standards and one that consistently fights hard. Last year’s men’s team finished in third place in the tough Southern Conference with a 7-3 conference record, 13-11 overall and an undefeated 9-0 home record.

The team was also the only men's team in the Southern Conference to earn special recognition from the NCAA for being in the top ten percent in their sport with regard for outstanding academic acheivement (APR). The team has now earned this recognition for four years in a row.

In addition, the team has also been recognized by the NCCA for having outstanding sportsmanship. In 2009, they won a national award by the NCAA ITA Ethics and Infractions Committee for exemplifying outstanding sportsmanship, character, and ethical conduct in the true spirit of competition.
